How Advertising Can Be Used For Advocacy first asks students to watch a series of advertisements to learn about the strategies used to market products to young people. Next, students use Youth Risk Behavior Survey data to identify a problem impacting adolescent mental health. Students brainstorm potential strategies, services or apps that could reduce the prevalence of this problem. Finally, students design an ad, targeting teens, to promote those strategies, services or apps. Exceptional ads can be posted in school and on social media to help combat these problems in your school community.
